About Me

Calling all lovers of old time Jamaican music.....
THE COOL OFF is a nite of vintage Ska, Rocksteady and 6ts R'n'B all proudly presented on original vinyl, strictly 45rpm. Been playing in Nottingham, UK for over ten years, under one guise or another, but currently enjoying a break from the madness while we find a new venue and deal with new babies!!!
About Me(Dave Mack): I'm a dedicated 45 collector (Ska, Rocksteady, RnB), lover of proper beer, proper food, proper jeans and proper eastern European Umpahpah! Oh...and I'm also a slightly obsessive twitcher....and closest grindcore/UKHC/old school death and black metal fan.....but that's another story!
Shacked up with the delectable yet troublesome Manchester-born beauty that is Karen Hall, and our gorgeous baby girls, Freyja (nearly two) and Hilde Thea (born pn 03 April 08)!!!!
Played at last year's 'Kings & Queens' Easter Weekender in Hamburg. Check out the photos/bilder at www.kings-n-queens.net and the video clip below. What a weekend!!
Recent guest spots have included sessions at "Set The Tone 67" at London's The Social and a spot covering for DJ Andy Smith at Lost & Found (Madame JoJo's, Soho) with Keb Darge.
Get in touch of you need a stiff ska injection!
