I'm a New Zealander now living in London where i've been based since 1988. Been interested in reggae & ska since 1978 when i heard the Specials first singles & album and I've been hooked ever since!! Developed an interest in all things mod about 1982-3 after oi skinheads crashed the party & it wasn't safe to be a two tone kid. What ever happened to solidarity?!Started DJing 1984/5, clubs & a few radio shows while in NZ & over the last couple of years have DJed at a number of reggae clubs while London based; Reggae Shack, Reggae Train, Copasetic, Set The Tone & in 2007 Shooting High, Reggae Injection & Hard As Nails. On a recent trip Down Under, i did a small set at Nick Hudson's 45rpm Club in Sydney. Done my back in dragging records 'round the world but worth every strained muscle!! In 2008, i had the pleasure of DJing in New Zealand, the first time in over 20 years. My thanks go out to Trent for organising that & Paul my co DJ for the night, again worth every strained muscle. I sold my scooter in 2006 after seven years restoring it to near original spec, a 1967 Lambretta SX150 Special in which i had dropped an SX200 engine. A waste having such a quick bike in London when you have mad cabbies cutting you up & red traffic lights every 200 metres. The most i got out of it was 75mph in drizzling rain while on the London to Brighton run. Scarey stuff...
