The idea of this band was conceived in the summer of 2006 as a Progressive/Doom Metal outfit, under the name "Dissonance"; however, since there were already too many bands using that same name, the name was changed in October of the same year. The name was later changed again (for the final time) to "Mortem Obire" -- a Latin phrase used to describe the moment of one's own physical death.
There are absolutely NO intentions of emulating current bands, hence the "progressive" edge. A bit of experimentation never hurt either.
The sample track that has been uploaded is a hastily slapped together instrumental (approximately 2 minutes long) that you may listen to while better music is being created. The other is a Death/Doom demo track from 2006, and thus also of low quality. The "PBJ" track is a joke song I did for a couple of friends; it is 100% improvised, including the vocals. Most of it was done in 2007, though the drums were recorded in 2006. The most recent sample track is more representative of my current thoughts for the band, though remember that it is a mere demo.
Right now the band is a solo project due to relocation. Any musicians are welcome to be in this band so that it may eventually become live-enabled.
