About Me

The Mad Things is a dumb name used to describe the music projects of everybody's favorite human beings - Jon Ringel and Larry Nardi. These bastards are based out of New York, New York and Stamford Connecticut, but that doesn't stop their music from reaching the far ends of the Earth via the internet (and much-celebrated oral tradition)! We are very excited to introduce you to our little two-man show. Check out our debut album soon. "Kaboom / Nocturnal Transmissions" was recorded almost entirely during an exhausting four-day bender in an isolated rural dwelling in Wilmington, Vermont. It was in this environment that the sounds came together as you now hear them, with good old Jon on drums, percussion, keyboards, traditional and electric slap ukulele, bass and vocals, and our man Larry on guitars (acoustic, electric, slide, and resonator), accordion, baritone horn (euphonium), bass and vocals. Needless to say, the live show is a ridiculous and complicated matter, best witnessed firsthand. Please come out sometime, and see what we've done...
Although we are primarily a two-piece outfit, we also have a rowdy bunch of part-time Mad Things that we feel it pertinent to mention here. They currently include lyricists Ali Bemont and Aaron Garris, uke-playing songwriters Kaleb Winisko and Nick Artuso, guitarists Larry Nardi (Sr.), Andrew Vuono and Dan Neafsey, mandolin-playing drummer and engineer Jason Peyser. Of course there are probably others, but we don't know how to spell their names.
The Mad Things would like to welcome you to their online community - please enjoy all of the music and resources they have to offer! Contact [email protected] for any additional information about The Mad Things.
