About Me

The Canadians came and liberated the Dutch a while ago, so I thought I'd go over to their country and do the same for them! I'm making steady progress.
Well at least I'm getting them some revenue, and making some good music over here. Previously employed by Fluisterwoud (with whom I recorded "Langs Galg en Rad") and several other Dutch bands/projects, I joined Allfather after moving to Canada, recorded an LP as drummer with Iskra (which I'm no longer part of) and have since also been quite active in Solar Winds and Black Lotus , two ensembles that will no doubt cause a nice little stir in the often lumpy and overcooked pot of soup that is metal. Keep eyes peeled and ears wide open.
A personal musical endeavour also exists in the form of Eindbaas . My little pet project that I work on whenever I want at home, without expectations from either an audience or myself; whatever sounds great goes in it. If you're a Tears for Fears fan who likes watching Bullit or The French Connection while the neighbour's kid has Mysticum up way too loud, or enjoy having a strong coffee to the Dave Brubeck Quartet while supervising the factory floor of an automated car manufacturing plant...well...then Eindbaas might be that dream you had last night and were desperately trying to recall when waking up.
Having an open mind and separating music from attitude is what it's all about.
Apart from playing guitar, bass, drums, banjo, jew's harp, a tiny bit of keyboards and the larynx, I also like to immerse myself a little in European medieval and ancient history, Gothicism (the architectural style - not the morose 14 year olds in upholstery fabric), amateur astronomy and photography. Check out some examples of the latter in the pictures section.
I recently acquired a violin, which I will definitely immerse myself in, somewhere where I will not torment neighbours and roommates until I can stay somewhat in key. :)
Dislikes are always more fun to list than likes, so I'll just leave it at those.
DISLIKES:
-Celery (My life is unofficially dedicated to the cause of globally exterminating this vile weed that malevolently gnaws at the roots of civilization and international cuisine)
-Being stuck behind slow people that don't have a clue
-People who need a gigantic SUV or a Hummer for their shopping trips to the local mall
-Objects pointlessly falling to the ground and having to pick them up
-Drug addicts and bums leaving their shit behind for you to work in
-Freeloading street kids panhandling for pot money and other hand-outs while their rich parents live across town
-Modern death metal, "Ooo I have to be even faster and more skilled than the next band. Solid riffs and song writing? What is that?"
-Cables and patch cords that you roll up neatly and that have turned into a fucking Gordian knot the next time you bring them out. I swear they lead a life of their own, plotting to drive musicians to madness. Possibly in collaboration with celery.
-Kids claiming that Joey Jordison is the best drummer in the world.
-Women and girls that pluck out their eyebrows and replace them with either thin lines or thick stripes...in places where no one else really has eyebrows.
-Men wearing nail polish while actually claiming to be straight.
-"Are we still out of good ideas for movie plots? OK, let's just remake another old horror classic. Or are there any comic books left that we can CGI-ify into a blockbuster? Oh wait! Heard of that new first person shooter game? As usual, let's get the latest hot music video director to make an uninspired heap of shit out of it!"
You scored as atheism. You are... an atheist, though you probably already knew this. Also, you probably have several people praying daily for your soul.Instead of simply being "nonreligious," atheists strongly believe in the lack of existence of a higher being, or God.
