Kissy Black, or Kissinger Stephen Deng as his motha Christianed him, was born in Sudan. A poor&war-ridden country, but all the same a land with an incredible rich cultural&historical heritage. Due to difficulties Kissy& his family moved to Egypt where they spent a decade in the home of Pharaoh. later on Kissy moved to Europe, Norway together with his mother, brother John & 2 sisters; Diana& Suzan. Kissy's life has been full of struggles. Besides the anticipated difficulties which follow migration, there's especially one incident, or should I say accident, which as affected Kissy and his future. The tall, big, basketballtalent was about to go to USA on a basket-scholarship when he fell down a roof playing basketball and broke his back. To this day he is paralyzed in both legs, and the complications this has brought on him is hard to understand for anyone that hasn't experienced anything similar. One should think a young, active, popular boy like Kissy would grow bitter and depressed as a consequence of his new situation& limitations, but he certainly has not. Kissinger is a true inspiration for everyone he meets. You can't but notice his smile, chamr& presence. He is one of these people that lights up a room whenever he enters, he got that mystical X-factor! What God took away from him that day, he certainly replaced it with an incredible personality and strenght. Instead of taking the role as a diabled person in a wheelchair, Kissinger has become a resource for everyone who knows him; he gives adivce, support, guidance and makes people smile on a daily basis.
