Adventurous Irish Filmmaker!

About Me

I was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1972. I moved to the United States in 1994 to further my career as an independent filmmaker. I started making films when I was 12 years old and have continued to do so ever since. I’ve had my films shown at various film festivals around the world and have won many awards along the way.My latest film, a drama titled DIVINE SOULS premiered at the 2007 AFI Dallas International Film Festival to a sold-out crowd and we have already started filming on one of our next two films, REMEMBER THE BEST TIMES, written by my good friend Vincent Scuro and I. The other is a horror film titled GOD’S CHOSEN, written by Steve Maisch.I love anything to do with film. I have a huge library of books on the art of filmmaking. Books on directing, producing, writing, acting, editing, photography, pretty much anything to do with making movies. I love to act and I love to direct also. I love working with other like-minded individuals who share the same passion and dedication to making films as I have.I also produce, write, edit and shoot my films, although I am expanding my company to bring in talented people in all areas so that I can concentrate on directing and telling the story at hand. I love all genres of film. From action/adventure to drama, sci-fi, westerns, horror, thriller and comedy. All my favourite movies are from all different genres. There’s nothing better than creating a story on paper and taking it from the page and putting it onto the screen. Although you will have varied criticisms of your completed film, the feeling you get after spending years of your life on your project and then finally seeing it on the screen, big or small, is a feeling that really has to be experienced to be believed. So whether you’re making your tenth film or setting out to make your first, do not be deterred by those around you who say it can’t be done. Spielberg, Lucas, Scorsese, Cameron and Donner, they all had to start somewhere and look at where they are today. Who’s to say you’ll be the next big thing? The only thing stopping you is you!

My Interests

Making movies has been my passion since I was 12 years old. I love creating a make-believe world on paper and then turning it into a real world on film. Working with passionate and talented people, both in front of and behind the camera, is a great atmosphere. All of us working together to make one film, there's nothing like it. Outside of making films, I love being with my family and close friends. A person needs to be surrounded by family and friends, I believe it makes us stronger and helps us grow.

I'd like to meet:

I'm looking to meet like-minded people who want to make movies. I write, produce, direct, edit, photograph and act. Sometimes in the one film but I am wanting to meet people who want to be a part of my team who can take on some of these responsibilities. I have many projects lined up, my current film is titled REMEMBER THE BEST TIMES, a film along the lines of ST. ELMO'S FIRE & THE BIG CHILL.After that, is a horror film called GOD'S CHOSEN, a movie along the lines of the movie FRAILTY. I am also writing other projects that I will be shooting as well. I'm looking for people who want to part of a winning team.I am currently trying to get financing for these projects but if we can't raise financing, I'll be making the film myself. All of my past films were made with very little so I'm no stranger to working in that arena. I'm also on the lookout for actors. If you have a headshot/resume please send it to me at [email protected]

Music:

I love film soundtracks. Not the heavy metal sort of music from a movie but the actual orchestral soundtrack. I love composers John Williams, the late Michael Kamen and Jerry Goldsmith, Alan Silvestri, James Horner, Dave Grusin, Danny Elfman and Christopher Young to name but a few. I also love classical music.

Movies:

My favourite movie of alltime is RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. I saw it for the first time when I was 9 years old and have watched it over 600 times. I also love the movies THE MATRIX, BABE (Yes, that film about the talking pig), GLADIATOR, anything JAMES BOND, THE BOURNE IDENTITY, THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS and a load more that would take too long to list here.

Television:

I never used to watch much T.V. but over the years I've gotten addicted to shows like FRIENDS, 24, CSI, NCIS and WITHOUT A TRACE.

Books:

I don't generally read much in the way of fiction, I have a huge collection of books on the art of filmmaking, directing, editing, cinematographer, working with actors, etc. I recently read THE LOGAN FACTOR, a great thriller written by my good friend Vincent Scuro who also helped me with my latest screenplay REMEMBER THE BEST TIMES.

Heroes:

My mother is my biggest hero. After my father walked out on my mother and sister and I when I was 7 years old, she raised us by herself and put her life aside so that my sister and I never needed for anything, food, clothes, books, etc. She used to love to write and stopped all of that to raise us both. I actually adapted her short story, THE PHOTOGRAPH into a feature screenplay and made it into a movie that premiered in Dallas in 2003. Her face lit up when she saw her name on the big screen. She is my soul mate.
