Carl Cape and the Electric Cape Band

About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

I returned to Northumberland in 2004 to begin recording a stack of songs I'd been working on and to be back 'home'. And it's great to be back! My inspiration is in nature and people - it's in the heather-filled moors and hills, and in the windy, sandy, golden white beaches of the North of England; my music is also loosely about how we live. Travelling has provided a backdrop to some of the songs: there's a preacher's words from Smalltown, USA in 'Gold'; a Swami Durgananda guru from India in Electric Krishna (this microphone is god...) and Tibetan Buddhist monks and Native American thinking (Lame Deer) in Superhighway. My sound is guitar + harmonica + voice. I'd like to say thanks to the people who have inspired me: Dan Driscoll in London for letting me play at Bungies and Glastonbury; Donovan for saying good things to us 'Cape' one night at a show; thanks to dancers who show us something... about our bodies that's sacred; thanks to photographers... who capture an aura that sparks a feeling + recognition; for painters for turning 2 dimensions into 3; for poets struglling with the order of words to make beauty. Thanks!
