Rock n Roll Rude boys from Twickenham

About Me

Press release, May 22nd 2008:
RADIO 1, XFM, TOTAL ROCK SUPPORT KICKS OFF ANONYMOUS TIP’S 2008 CAMPAIGN
The Twickenham based 4-piece have just celebrated the release of their debut single, ‘Polemic To The Suits’, a complex, dark, brooding composition about the pitfalls of being an artist in a formulaic, accountant-led, music industry. The single was supported by Radio 1’s Mike Davies, it won XFM’s ‘Heatseeker’ slot on the Rock Show, hosted by Martin Bate, it was also playlisted at Total Rock by the legendary Tony Wilson (Tommy Vance’s R1 producer). Video C listed the video too, on their Rock Channel.
The band has also just been snapped up by First Contact Agency.
A new single, the epic ‘Mouth Of The Sufferer’, will be released on July 7th, followed by the band’s debut album, ‘Not Your Orthodox’ on July 21st.
The fast and furious tones of Anonymous Tip have been rocking venues up and down the UK since their inception. They have made a real dent in the underground punk rock circuit as an unorthodox group of punk rockers with an ambiguous message. Songs about Marge Simpson, confessions of nymphomania, fascism within rock scenes and their deep routed suspicion of the music industry, have helped them gain a notorious and loyal following.
Their musical statement of intent is to blend emotive chants with fast-paced grooves, at the same time, keeping everything carefully crafted to ignite the monster inside and to provoke debate and passion.

“Inventive Twickenham Punks, throwing dub and metal into the mix” - Trailer Park Trash
The core of the band formed in a Twickenham attic. Taran, Simon, Adrian and Sanj’s string of London dates, kicked off a buzz loud enough for them to get noticed by seminal punk legends, Snuff. Snuff went on to release Anonymous Tip’s self-financed and self-produced debut 6-track EP “Greetings from Wasteland” through 10 Past 10 Records and took them on a unadulterated tour around the UK with Five Knuckle, Captain Everything and of course, the mighty Snuff.
Adrian (Guitarist): “It was really strange, one day we were playing a café in Brentford and the next, we were playing to a over a thousand people opening up for one of the best punk bands in the world”
The EP sold out – over 2,000 copies - and was released in other territories, where it sold well too, especially in Japan, where the band built up a cool following. In fact, another AT track, ‘I Can’t Skateboard’, was included on a Japanese Punk Compilation album, ‘Story Of Three Tails’, alongside artists like Ten Foot Pole and Frenzal Rhomb.
Sanj: “we expected it to be difficult to be welcomed into the British rock scene for a few reasons. Firstly, we were not part of the "flavour-of-the-week" crew, which was all Emo at the time. We just enjoyed playing what we liked and were proud to launch into a fast metallic punk beat on the back of a chilled-out dub opus. All of us come from different worlds and that shows in the music we create”.
On the back of the success of the 6-track EP and the band’s defiance to submit to the norm, they started to get noticed more and British tours followed with cool kids, Through Silence and ex King Prawn hero Babar Luck.
Babar Luck: “I have a lot of love for my friends in Anonymous Tip”
This helped them to build their live prowess & show that Anonymous Tip have now become an awesome live band, spreading a strong, word-of-mouth buzz that has accredited & welcomed them into the Underground punk scene.
The start of 2006 saw the departure of Anonymous Tip’s long time bassist and friend Simon. However, new recruit, Chris Brazier, has helped take the band to the next level with his 6 string bass creativity, adding a new twist to the hotly anticipated full-length album aptly titled ‘Not your Orthodox’ due for release on July 21st 2008.
Chris (bassist): “I’m looking forward to unleashing these new tracks to the public, as they are pretty intense. Dynamically, the music excites me and Sanj’s lyrics are very political. He seems very angry with the media and wants to voice that, I really like his current protagonist stance on the current political climate in the UK. Its all good, I’m very happy and proud to be working with these gents”
Last year was a great year for Anonymous Tip. Early mixes from the new record “Not Your Orthodox” helped them to gain a newfound fan following that is building upon their status on the UK rock circuit. So much so, that Visual Director Adam Kaleta, (MTV, Jackass etc) used their music on a pan-European, five-part terrestrial television show to document Nissan’s Urban Challenge event.
