TAKNbySTORM©, WOW!!! WHAT A YEAR!!!!! WHAT A RIDE IT HAS BEEN!!!!!! I thank GOD for all of the people that started this musical journey with me. I thank God for "THE VISION" that i had one day........ Why does God give us vision? Perhaps you may feel like you've never been able to see PAST today.But, I ask you to think about it for a moment, if you have a particular something planned for next week this time, you cannot see yourself ALREADY there. Well, it's just that simple, when a leader has a plan for an organization such as a business or church, They may not have all of the details, or even know what will happen between NOW and THEN. BUT, they can see enough to START moving towards "THE VISION".They can see enough to BELIEVE it to be possible. "THE VISION" becomes real enough, that they simply CANNOT rest until they have taken action to attain that VISION. They will go through WHATEVER they have to go through, for as long as it takes, because They SEE themselves "THERE". REAL VISION STARTS WITH BELIEF............i believe now. REAL VISION CREATES DETERMINATION..........i am determined. REAL VISION CREATES PATIENCE............i am steadfast.
My debut cd, "THE BEGINNING" has been a pleasant, but very PERSONAL project. As my producers and i peace together the final "GEMS", I can't help but look back on what i have learned, ABOUT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, but, more importantly, ABOUT LIFE. I have learned that instead of complaining about the STATE OF THE WORLD........I want to do something about it. Each of us are born with a "GIFT". Some may never find what that gift is. I have a gift, GOD gives me songs.........I am aware that the songs that i write "ARE DIFFERENT"........and may never sell a million units. BUT, i do know (smile) that the world is full of enough "HATE" and "VIOLENCE", and that i will strive to give listeners an alternative. The music will remain POSITIVE, but real. I have been very fortunate in the last few months, to work with an assortment of Producers , Rappers, Poets and singers. THEY HAVE INSPIRED ME, AND ENCOURAGED ME TO KEEP WRITING, and striving to "perfect" my craft.!!!!!!!! I have found a "HOME" that i have never had, this "home" that i speak of is THE STAGE, and being around people that understand the hard work that is required to make the creative thought COME TO LIFE. I want to thank TYUS EVENS, for the flute and cello work on "THE LITTLE BOY INSIDE". O.G. STUNNA , CEO of LETHAL ENTERTAINMENT, for putting down his "GANGSTA" and blessing "MONEY CANT BUY U LUV" with his softer side. ZIQUE, for the encouragement, (u r a baddddd basss player bro!!!) TRAVIS, AND CEO PRODUCTIONS for all the support, and for that bangin' club track!!!!! (i got u TRAV) WILLIS -JAMEEL JONES , for the keys and background vocals on "MOMMA'S HANDS". MOST OF ALL, i have to thank JESUS CHRIST, for his mercy, for his comfort, for taking away my sorrows............for letting me know that I AM GOOD ENOUGH............for taking away my bitterness.........for giving me a voice........for giving me a song to sing............for putting the "SCARED, LITTLE BOY" to rest. I WILL GIVE GOD THE GLORY IN ALL THINGS.Take the time to enjoy one another, as we respect each others differences, we must realize that we all are the same, as we go through life sharing the experiences of the human condition.
This music, and my upcoming cd "THE BEGINNING" is dedicated to the memory of my dear grandfather, DEACON EDDIE YARBROUGH (AUGUST 5, 1923-OCTOBER 30, 2006). "PAPAW", you will be missed.......I wish i would have taken more time to sing to you.........WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH YOU LOVED TO DANCE. Even as i mourn your passing, i can only smile at the lessons that i have learned from you..........As i watched my father prepare the words for your eulogy, i saw his pain.........and witnessing that pain, made alot of my own pain go away. YOU BROUGHT ME AND MY DAD CLOSER THAN WE HAVE EVER BEEN..............I THANK GOD FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE KNOWN A MAN LIKE YOU...............AND I WILL STRIVE TO BE THE MAN THAT I AM SUPPOSED TO BE.............LISTEN AS I SING "PAPAW"............AND IF ITS GOOD TO YOU...............DANCE MAN, GO AHEAD AND DANCE. REST IN PEACE.
