Read the History of Events That Have Led to This Site~ Illinois Constitution Article 11, Section 2 states, RIGHTS OF INDIVIDUALS "Each person has the right to a healthful environment.Each person may enforce this right against any party,governmental or private, through appropriate legalproceedings subject to reasonable limitation and regulationas the General Assembly may provide by law." ~Gaskin Lake dam was built in 1957. It spent some time as a privately owned camp ground, then it was purchased by the Odd Fellows who also used it as a public camp ground for many years. We are currently looking for any information possible about the history of the lake, so feel free to email us here or at [email protected] our search on information about the lake, we have found it used with words such as 'reservoir' and 'watershed'. We're still looking for information on those points. The shores of Gaskin Lake are also home to several families. They have all lived there for many years, and now have to face eviction attempts (from homes they OWN) and the smell of dead and dying fish. Many had retired there to go fishing, but no longer can because of the lake being drained and the fish killed off.

This biochemical is suspected of causing immunotoxicity, neurotoxicity, respiratory toxicity, and skin or sense organ toxicity. Essentially, combined with the poor health of the people living here, this could become a terminal environment. The environment created by the repeated fish kills has to be detrimental to our health .
