Jay aka Steek

I'm a student at Bolton University having gone back into education after a long time out. Figured i'd get a degree under my belt and open up some better oppurtunities. My brother thought it would be a good idea to get me on here, fook knows why but i've got nothing better to do on a wednesday afternoon. But in all seriousness though I have an uncontrolable thirst for music, specifically Drum & Bass and Techno.I'm not a DJ or Producer, just someone with a passion for these often misunderstood music forms. Listening to John Berry's Kiss Techno show back in the mid nineties I got into the Detroit Techno sounds and then further into the harder sounds via Carl Cox and his FACT mixes.It was at this point I was introduced to D&B by a school friend, Reprazents New Forms being the culprit. Then by complete accident I picked up a £1.99 Moving Shadow mix, 98.01 I think!? Was instantly hooked on the darker D&B sounds of Tech Itch and Dom & Roland.Fast forward a few years and i'm still listening to the darker sounds (after a brief break from D&B). Currently i'm looking to take the next step in my D&B passion by getting involved in pushing the tougher sounds in the North of England.Nights like Therapy Sessions and Renegade Hardware have a massive following in the south, its only a matter of time before "nails" D&B takes off "up north!"
