I am here for Friends

About Me

I was born in a small town in Arkansas, though I knew from a young age that I could never be tied down to there. The small town atmosphere made me long for adventure all about this fine world, and I have pursued that adventure as much as possible in my adult life, having longed to know all that life has to teach me and impart upon me in the way of wisdom and virtuosity. I will never quit learning, traveling, and living. Life is what you make of it, and my life is wrought with stories upon stories, and when I am near death's door and awaiting the Reaper to answer my fierce rap, I will be able to regail myself with the many deeds of which I have availed myself in my many wonderful years upon this earth...

My Interests

I enjoy reading, writing, singing, playing the guitar, and watching movies. My favorite television consists of situational comedies, educational bits and dramatic television series. My favorite movies are the classics. I live to travel and open my mind. I enjoy speaking with people from other countries and exploring their culture and way of life. I like sports of all kinds, and my particular favorite is American collegiate-level football.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet persons who are interested in intelligent conversation about societal matters, history, politics, and sports. Life is mostly lived in the grey area; therefore, there are many things of which to thoroughly discuss. I am sardonic and humorous, sometimes the two being so wonderfully intertwined. I would enjoy that the people I most often encounter be the same as me or have similar tendancies as have I. It makes for more stimulating discussions and livelier debates, though the phenomenon of group think looms imminent so the sporadic fanatical conservative will also be somewhat tolerated.Myspace Layouts & Graphics

Music:

I am a fan of most music. My most preferred genres are classic rock, hard rock, and smooth jazz. My favorite bands and performers are: George Benson, Marc Antoine, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bush, Tool, Rammstein, Megaherz, Sôber, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disturbed, Metallica, Army of Lovers, Stone Temple Pilots, Tokio Hotel, and Alice in Chains.

Movies:

I have so many tastes when it comes to movies. I am very moody and tend to watch a movie for other reasons than entertainment. I need substance in any film, and I prefer the classics and foreign films.

Television:

My favorite television shows are Still Standing; The Golden Girls; Hogan's Heroes; Frasier; The Colbert Report; The Soup on E! and Ghost Hunters. It is a vast assortment missing only reality t.v., which I disdain. I don't watch much television really.

Books:

I am a fan of classics for the most part. My favorite author is Edgar Allan Poe. My favorite short story, however, is "The Most Dangerous Game". My favorite modern author is Richard Doetsche. I also enjoy all Sherlock Holmes works by Sir Authur Conan Doyle. The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell
The Fisherman and His Soul by Sir Oscar Wilde
The Vendetta by Guy de Maupassant
The Lottery Ticket by Anton Chekov
The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant
Araby by James Joyce
Selected Work by Pablo Neruda, Mexico's Greatest Poet

Heroes:

My grandfather Donald Jackson; Bono from U2; Thomas Alva Edison; Abraham Lincoln; Martin Luther King Jr.; Ferdinand Magellan; Sir Frances Drake; Martin Luther; all the blacks that have fought against prejudice, racism and oppression for years; all the Mexicans moving to the U.S. who are learning our culture and language in search of a better life for their families; our soldiers fighting for a cause that is not their own or mine.
