The project aims to create minimalistic electronic music. Preferably with unusual production methods. This includes the usage of cirquit bent toys, abuse of videogames and what ever crosses the way.
The tracks on this page are made only with a Game Boy Advance running Nanoloop 2.0 . The live Video includes other gear like an Casio SK-8, Yamaha CS-01, a Game Boy running LSDJ and a lot of FX.
The upcoming album will be recorded on tape using only 4 track recording and involve stranger instruments.
The name Nanolo comes from Nanoloop. Nanoloop is a software for Game Boy and Game Boy Advance, coded by Oliver Wittchow from Hamburg. He said: "Nanoloop is my definition of minimalism." The name Nanolo is a homage to this (I know that it`s an Japanese girls name :-)).
Minimalism helps artists to focus on things they are usually not focusing. The posibilitys offered to electronic musicians by computers can be far to much: The artist is loosing his focus while playing and experimenting. Experiments are good, but sometimes it is better to work in a fixed set of rules.
Be invited to enjoy the minimalistic peaces on this page and please leave a message what you think about it ^_^
