Influences: I have a lot of influences (music wise), but the events that take place in my life everyday are the primary influences. This is why I am considered by many as a "real" artist. Many of these self-titled "MC's" do not realise that a 16 bar shouldn't be written just for a "wheel up" at a radio set or to have the "hypest" dub. To me Grime is a form of Hip Hop (that hasn't been commercialised) , and the Hip Hop is just like The Blues . It is meant to tell stories of struggles, hard times, and ups and downs
SO DO NOT ALLOW NO-TALENT MC'S SHOUTING ABOUT GUNS AND KNIVES CLOUD YOUR JUDGEMENT!
My influences aren't tied down to grime . Being eclectic, I have influences that vary from 70's Soul music to Rock & Roll
Grime wise.... Influences were the early instrumentals like Kamikaze’s " Ghetto Kyote" , Pied Piper (not by the same producer), and Ruff Squads " (forgot the name)" , around the way MC's to artists including Miss Dynamite and So Solid Crew . The 2 artists that I would say inspired me the most would have to be Dizzee Rascal and Kano . These 2 stood out the most during Grimes Neanderthal era (early stages). Dizzee's " I love u" , " Fix up, Look sharp ", Kano's " Ghetto Kyote freestyle ", and he’s verse on Jammer's " Destruction " beat. *Reminiscing*. Don’t forget KA’s verses on “ Leave me alone ” by Katie Pearl .
I've also taken a liking to Vocalists of the UK on Grime beats. When singers like Katie Pearl , Lady NY , Kele Le Roc , and others sing on the beats they give it a different vibe which can't be achieved on your average R&B or Slow Jam beats.
Now I am influenced by anything new that sounds good to me. Content , flows , wordplay , and hooks . These are necessities when it comes to making an influential track.
O yeah. Shout outs to DJs Logan Sama , Ritchie Vee , and Cameo for their radio shows. Every time I listen there’s a new track that makes me write even better than last time.
