Having released albums in South America and Australia , Waldo has a unique standing within the local music scene. Waldo stands as the only Latin artist in the country to have grasped influences from the dancefloor and moulded them into a sound that can cross into both genres. His forthcoming album CHILEANSOUL under the name of Garrido is testament to that.Waldo fuses the rhythms and textures of South American music with dance floor beats. His releases have a strong dance edge as on his previous 12" singles "Latin Vibe", "Give Me The Rhythm" and "Fiesta Latina" all of which merge Dance and Latin with a jazzy flava.Besides forays onto the dancefloor with his own music, Waldo also made his mark remixing tracks for acts like Disco Montego including their Top10 single "Beautiful".He has written and produced two Latin solo albums under the name of Waldo Waldo Fabian; 'Dejame Tocarte', a South American release through Sony, and 'Loco', which was released locally by FMG. There's also been a No.1 single on Chile 's No.1 station Radio Corazon with the title track from 'Dejame Tocarte'.Waldo's songs have gained great exposure in South America through a number of top selling compilations there. Waldo is also no stranger to the Latin American charts with production and writing credits on two singles for Latino singer Rachel.Waldo has written and produced music for a number of local artists as well as film soundtracks, his diversity is further emphasised through his role as founding member of Australia's pioneering jazz outfit 'The Catholics'.Waldo begun working on tracks with an urban/r&b flava for his 'Urbanism' project featuring guest vocalists.Waldo's appetite for creating and performing music is never ending, from live appearances at Latin music festivals and the Big Day Out to writing and producing in the studio, his passion is indicative of his Latino background.Waldo brings us his new single release on a special edition club promo featuring a new track "Hot Chili", and the classic "Fiesta Latina" which was released last year at Ibiza.The promo CD features remixes by the Aviators, Craig Obey and Waldo G.It's an excellent slice of Latino/Dance for the summer parties and dancefloors and sums up the spirit and sound of Waldo, Latin rhythms mixed with house and beats. The end result is upfront, vibrant and in the groove.Waldo has also teamed up with trumpeter Lee McIver to set up Chili-Lime, a production company and recording studios in Sydney.
