RADIOACTIVE STAND UP!!!!

About Me

The time has come to put the soul back into R&B music. From the heart of Mississippi, baptized in the rich gospel/soul and R&B traditions set forth by his predecessors comes J.R...Born in the small town of Columbus, Mississippi, and raised in a military family living all over the globe, comes a performer with a rich musical pedigree raised to live and breathe music since his birth......J.R. started writing and arranging his first songs at the age of 6, and began singing and touring with a youth gospel group in his father's church by the age of 9. After a chance audition for R&B crooner Jon B. shortly after high school, J.R. was encouraged to relocate to Atlanta where he could get his feet wet as a writer...Now a full-time resident of Atlanta, J.R. has formed the writing team RADIOACTIVE (www.myspace.com/radioactivesongs) and is currently penning hits for many of your favorite artists. From collaborations with platinum-selling producers Kevin Hicks (Aaliyah, Ruben Studdard), D. Baker (Mims), Carlos Mckinney (J. Holiday, The-Dream), Drummaboy (Young Jeezy, Plies, Three Six Mafia) and countless others, J.R. has now stepped from behind the producer’s board to the microphone. With the completion of his much anticipated artist deput, GOOD MUSIK, a&r’s at several major labels are literally bidding for this crooner's brand of what he calls R&S (Rhythm and Soul). Writing 90% and producing 50% of the tracks himself, GOOD MUSIK is filled with soul stirring tracks such as the inspirational DON'T LET and pure vocal magic as can be heard on his lead single, ALL I WANT IS U.J.R. cites his first and greatest musical influence as his father, John R. Harris Sr., a retired military Sgt., minister, and renowned gospel singer... J.R. says “I learned everything from watching him. His delivery was so polished, powerful and sincere. I took that and built on it”... J.R. also draws his influences from the usual suspects like Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, and Marvin Gaye, but is quick to add “these artists have inspired me, but I would never try and imitate the sounds of legends, I simply draw from their mastery and try to add another chapter to the story they’ve already started”.....J.R. has indeed succeeded in creating a unique style and feeling all his own; one which can only be understood by experiencing the music from his lips to your ears. His first LP, GOOD MUSIK, has currently sold well over 1000 units in less than 3 months. Wanna know why? Just listen....
