i started listening to music when i was about 5 years old. i got a radio on my 5th birthday. so i listened to the radio nearly every day, because i did not know any other possibility of listening to music (there was no broadband internet in 1995). the variety of music of the local radio stations around my area is very limited. they've got about 20 songs which they play over and over again. therefore i soon discovered, that the music played on the radio was not enough for me. this was the first time i made my own music. just in my head.then, in 1999 a friend of mine showed me a program called "techno maker", which i found fascinating, because you could produce your own music by combining different samples. a few years later, i bought a similar program, called dance ejay 2. as you can see, in that time i was focused on electronic music like dance, house and techno. but that changed by the years, today i majorly listen to rnb, funk, soul and hip-hop (which is electronic music as well). back to the days i worked with dance ejay: i liked it quite much and produced about 30 songs with it. but than it became boring because it did not contain very many samples. i bought the 2 other programs techno ejay 2 and hip-hop ejay 2. After i produced about 20 songs with them i thought that there has to be a way to produce music more precisely because arranging samples did not satisfy me very much. in 2004 i bought a keyboard and tried to make some music using magix music studio 2003.but i gave up fastly because it was very difficult for me. i just did not find out the right way of producing music. a few months i did not touch anything of the equipmet i bought.but then some friends came to me one day and we decidet to record a track, which we did in 2 days. after that i felt motivated to go on and find new ways to produce music.today i produce beats and playbacks. i first make samples which i play on my keyboard. then i form a track out of them. i rarely use samples i did not produce on my own.some people asked me how i chose my pseudonym: in july 2006 i created my first myspace.com page and i needed a good pesudonym. i knew that my first name would be ian, because i just like that name and it is easy to remember. but it was way more difficult to find a fitting last name which is also not so common. so i looked through some last name dictionarries on the internet. finally i found "audley" which i liked. "ian" means: god is gracious. it is a caeltic/gaelic name. "audley" is an anglo-saxon last name (i do not know if this information is true, i just read it on the internet).
