About Me

The McDave created this page with a little help from MySpace Layouts nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor !
Yes, the sad, geeky fellow below holding a little Godzilla is indeed me- such a poser!!
Hi, dudes- the name's James Alan Taundry (a.k.a Dave McDave), and in case you’re wondering, yes, I am in need of serious help.
Oh, and yes; my birthday is on HALLOWEEN!
I’m an avid collector of films and movie memorabilia, with the horror genre being the main focus of my attentions (in other words I'm a massive horror movie fan), as well as dai kaiju eiger (Godzilla and other giant monster films).
I’m known to have a huge personality and I’m considered by many to be completely mad, and as is often the case, I do tend to creep people out with my strange conversation pieces, as well as the shady portrayal of my sexuality- I just love watching people squirm!!! I’m quite confident, and find it easy to just talk to random people in the street. However, I’m no longer capable of all the stunts and pratfalls I used to do, due to age (I’m 24) and an extremely bad back.
The weird thing is, in high school I was bullied for these reasons, and yet now I’m absolutely adored for them!
I’m currently taking a couple of years out from going for professional acting or writing gigs to rest up- my last few years have been extremely busy and shockingly traumatic, but that doesn’t mean I’m lazy. Far from it in fact, as I currently work as a ‘Customer Service Sales Assistant’ or Team Member as we're now known at Odeon Worcester, which absolutely rules as it’s both a job I actually like, and I get to see movies for free!
I also used to hand out flyers for Tramps outside RSVP- yes, that was me, that guy who always annoyed you of a night time if you ever went through town- it's a job I did for nearly THREE years...
My intension is to one day be a professional actor, but at the moment I’m leaning more towards a career as a writer and director, and I’m working towards this goal in my spare time. It is my full intention to one day produce a series of short horror films and later, a couple of feature length ones. All in all though, I'm everyone's fun loving Dave McDave...
Of course, you can also message me by my e-mail, which is:-

My Interests

In my spare time I write stories and scripts, and I perform in amateur shows whenever I get the chance. I’ve even got a National Diploma in Performing Arts!

In the past I’ve played Nick Bottom in a cool 60’s musical version of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, as well as Amos Hart in ‘Chicago’, and also Frank N Furter in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ (to name a few), and I have gathered rave reviews for such performances.

At one point I was even being primed to become an artist, but I found expressing my creativity through other mediums, such as acting, writing, singing, and direction much more rewarding and not so constraining.

In any case, as I happen to be an adept artist, I tend to design characters and monsters for use in short lived comics of my own design, and I also sketch out designs for makeup effects and horrific creatures that appear in the multitude of horror or action orientated stories I come up with!!!

Currently, I'm formulating a comic book idea based around the comedic and sometimes dangerous misadventures of a new superhero called 'Turbo-Man', and how his life changes as he's sucked into the superhero buisness...

I'd like to meet:

BRUCE CAMPBELL!!! I've already met two other screen idols of mine- GEORGE A. ROMERO (He who directed the Living Dead saga, Martin, The Crazies...) and makeup artist supremo TOM SAVINI!!! I would like to meet Sam and Ted Raimi at some point in my life, as well as hardcore wrestling legends Mick Foley and Terry Funk!!!

Seriously though, with myspace, I’d just like to meet some like-minded people who'll challenge me, shake up some of my beliefs and ideas, and maybe even collaborate with me or help me out with some of my little side projects…

Music:

Goldfinger
Tenacious D
They Might Be Giants
Lost Prophets
The Feeling
Weird Al Yankivich
Nightwish
System of a Down
Travis

These are just a few of my favourite bands and singers, although even this changes depending upon my mood.

I kind of prefer movies scores and orchestra rock though, so I can picture kick-ass scenes- the best sound track of all time belongs to EITHER 'The Lost Boys' OR 'The Transformers 1986 Movie', but the ending fight song in Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children is most excellent!

Movies:

I’m an avid collector of films and movie memorabilia, with the horror genre being the main focus of my attentions. I just love ‘Zombie’ films, and to that end I’ve even met a host of horror film actors and crew. My Top films include:-
The Evil Dead Trilogy (Army of Darkness is my favorite film of all time!)
Godzilla (1954 + the Other 27 Japanese 'Gojira' films)
The Romero Living Dead Saga
Jaws
Freddy vs Jason
The Eye
The Child's Play Series
The Nightmare on Elm Street Series
The Friday the 13th Series
The Halloween Series (Except 8 and the remake- FUCK BUSTA RHYMES AND ROB ZOMBIE!!!)
The Ring Trilogy
The Frighteners
The Tremors series
The Host
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Films
Stir of Echos
Shaun of the Dead
Oldboy
Death Line
The Lost Boys
The Deadly Spawn
Killer Klowns From Outer Space
The Hitcher (Original)
Zombie Flesh Eaters (a.k.a Zombi 2)
The Maniac Cop Trilogy
The Saw Series
The Phantasam Saga
Bad Taste
Braindead
C.H.U.D
The Alien Saga
Predator 1 & 2
AVP/R
Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2
Q, the Winged Serpent
The Critters Series

And now for some not-so-horrific films....

Hot Fuzz
Kung Fu Hustle
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (All 4)
Unbreakable
Kung Pow
Sky High
The X-Men Trilogy
Fantastic Four 1 & 2
The Incredibles
Children of Men
Signs
Monster Squad
Howard the Duck
Sideways
The 40 Year Old Virgin

Television:

When do I get time for T.V? I've got so many DVDs and hours of work that I don't get the chance! But when it comes down to it, I feel the TV series' of interest include:-
Spaced
Heroes
Millennium
My Name Is Earl
Batman: The Animated Series (That's the old one, folks!)
Transformers (The classic Generation 1 animation)
South Park
The Mighty Boosh
The I.T Crowd
Megas XLR
The Simpsons (but then again who doesn't like this show...)

Books:

I'm more of a comic fan myself, but I do have a small collection of books- mainly film companions and horror stories.

I love:

'The Rats' trilogy by James Herbert
Most stuff by Steven King
The Max Brooks Zombie books- I rank World War Z as my current favourite book!
Comic-wise, I love anything:
Batman
Swamp-Thing
Army of Darkness
The Walking Dead
Rising Stars

I used to love Sonic the Comic, Spiderman and X-Men- but that's died down since...

Heroes:

This may sound stupid but as a kid I worshipped Freddy Krueger, but as I grew up and went through a wrestling phase, that hero became Mick Foley, and to a certain extent he still is.

Nowadays I love George A Romero, Sam Raimi, Peter Jackson, and John Carpenter- guys who made films on their own terms and for who I have mucho respect! I also would wash the sores from Bruce Campbell's dirty feet if he asked me to do so! I love that guy!!!

I'd also would love to hang out with Ted Raimi, Jon Faverou, and Paul Giomatti

An other hero of mine is my friend Moggie, who truly is one of the coolest geeks on the planet- if I was anything like him, I'd be a made man....
