About Me

aDwayne Desmond Anglin a.k.a. “Danglin” entered the world, on September 22nd, in St Catherine, Jamaica. He is the last of three children born to electrician, Desmond Anglin, and school teacher, Rita Anglin. Danglin’s love for music developed at an early age; as a child, he would often listen to his father’s old records and try to mimic each artiste’s sound to perfection, “I was especially drawn to the Golden Oldies; the sad, yet, alluring sounds of Johnny Mathis, and Nat King Cole, provided the inspiration I needed when life seemed hopeless.” At the age of 15, his family migrated to Mt. Laurel, New Jersey where he completed his High School education. In 2001, he joined the US Navy and was deployed overseas during Operation Enduring Freedom, The Invasion of Iraq, and numerous operations in North Korea.

HIS JOURNEY:

Danglin made his performance debut at a concert held in the Guy’s Hill High School Auditorium. “I remember it like it was yesterday; the room was packed, the energy was high; and from the very first moment I walked on the stage, I knew then that this is where I belong.” While in the US Navy, he was stationed overseas, and had the opportunity to perform in countries such as Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, and Australia. Since he’s been back in the US, he has had the privilege to open shows for artistes such as, Beenie Man, Sizzla, Morgan Heritage, Richie Spice and Junior Reid. Danglin’s unique style and diversity has earned him high ranks from all audiences.

HIS STYLE:

Danglin has so far recorded over 40 songs, all of which has been written and co- produced by him. His songs bring a new flava to the music scene; his unique style is a mixture of the great Bob Marley’s unmistakable sound, Maxi Priest’s exotic feel, D Angelo’s smooth yet funky tone, and LL’s cool seductive rap style. He describes his unique style as Ragga Soul, “No genre in existence can completely represent the flava I bring, which is why I had created my own genre of music.”

HIS VISION:

Danglin’s vision is to, “bring Ragga Soul music to life; and establish it as a genre in music that bridges the gap between Reggae, hip hop and R&B.” He said it best when he said, “Ragga Soul: your music, my way”. Danglin’s unique style, image, and swagger, will ensure him a place amongst music’s all time greatest artiste. .
