About Me

The name’s N.O.M.A.D. and yes it’s an acronym that actually stands for something. I am just another urban landscaper into stickers, stencil art, wheatpasting, etc … just any medium of graffiti. I am what some people refer to as a naïve artist, meaning I am self-taught. I am inspired by life and the people living it, especially the artists who share their unique vision of their world with everybody else. In regards to street art, I try to take a little from everybody…everybody who has taken a little from others. Keep this in mind: Originality is undetected plagiarism and the art of concealing your sources. I am heavily inspired by the work ethic of Shepard Fairey, the political and social commentary of Banksy, the sticker madness of BNE and the rebellious attitude and “dirty style” of David Choe. These traits in addition to the kind words of friends, family, MySpace friends and enemies are just a few of the many things that push me forward with street art and progress to formulate some uniqueness. I help other street artists and bands with their artwork and I am probably down to help you out too if you want and hopefully when I have the time. I am open to positive natured collaborations and showcasing my art so feel free to inquire. My favorite art plays devil’s advocate, spreads wisdom/philosophy and consists of simple imagery occasionally guided by blunt text, especially because it is most effective in such a fast paced society with short attention spans. I also seek to incorporate the utilization of FEAR into my work (might help explain the character I currently use and abuse). FEAR is the common theme of the negative –isms such as racism, classism and sexism in society as well as consumerism. Fear is rooted in the unknown and beauty in mystery. The unknown and anonymity add to the essence of the beauty of my art as it evolves. If I have left anything out, it is most likely intentional so try not to pry. In the meantime, a big THANK YOU to the street art and graffiti greats, all the fans and haters.
