When it comes to exposure for up and coming artist, Milwaukee County is an untouched land. Local rapper Jere Lipsey, better known as Ray Rizzy, is proving that big things can rise out of unknown places. In 2004, Ray Rizzy dropped his first album entitled The Corner, which gave him credibility throughout the neighborhoods of the inner city. His first single, I Hope You Know featuring Too Short, not only gave him exposure, but earned him respect among rap and hip hop lovers city wide. In the midst of pushing his CDs, Ray Rizzy caught his first break by hooking up with Def Jams super producers No ID and Extreme. With his distinctive sound and charm, Ray Rizzy is a force to be dealt with.In late 2004, Ray Rizzy had the opportunity to battle with DMX, one of the industrys finest. He was also featured, battling live on BET, at the BET College Tour where he went up against the top underground artists across the country. Ray Rizzy has become living proof that skeptics can be made into believers.Ray Rizzy went back home after touring in order to put together a street album with the boys he grew up with. With this, came a production company called Hard Head Entertainment. During the summer, Ray Rizzy and his childhood friends released their first joint album entitled Lost Diamonds. This particular album exposed listeners to the hard knock childhood they had growing up on 29th and Capital, located in Milwaukee, WI.In the summer of 2005, he released his third album, Heaven Sent. This album carried the same ghetto prophesizing over super produced beats. It revealed his lifes experiences and gave listeners the opportunity to briefly live the life of Ray Rizzy.Back on the grind with a new CD entitled Goonville, Ray Rizzy is enjoying the help of Chicago producers A Foe and M Dot, not to mention influences such as Young P and Pistol, of Lost Souls Records. The self proclaimed Ghetto Prophet, is catching the eye of A&R Executives and talent scouts. Although these are the facts, Ray Rizzy continues to stay focused on his ultimate goals. Winning the King of the City battle, where he went head to head with the top MCs of Milwaukee County, only gets him that much closer to those goals. Ray Rizzy is surely an artist to be watched.
