Youth.SG (say "Youth Dot S G") is an online portal aimed at youth (ages 15-35) in Singapore:
1. We advise and inform youth on participating in and developing community projects.
Based on information gleaned from a public consultation in 2005, we discovered that youths in Singapore do not know of the many opportunities and resources available for ground-up initiatives (gasps*). Or in simpler terms - Youths are unaware!
As such, Youth.SG aims to provide information for community participation and involvement. We want to Link experienced personnel or organizations that can advise or provide youth with the resources and Services they need.
2. We also encourage youths to step forward and create their own community projects.
Youth.SG wants to dispel old notions of community participation (flag days, visits to homes, blah) and encourage youths to step forward to create their own creative community involvement Projects.
Community projects can be fun, yet meaningful. Hence we Showcase relevant and sometimes eclectic events and projects from youths. We want to inspire YOU, the People to do the same - Go on, run riot, get off your bums and show the world what you've got!
3. We want to provide a platform for youth expression.
Youth.SG believes in expression. Shout it out, interact or just gossip away on our Blog and Forum. While we're out and about, let our Lifestyle dictate what you can do at School or at Work and places where you need to be "Scene".
