EFÄR Clothing, was founded in 1996 with the goal of eliminating racism. EFÄR ’s mission is to provide customers of every race, color, and ethnic background the freedom of human representation and personal involvement in the needed fight against racism, prejudice, and ignorance. A play on the phonetic pronunciation of the initials F and R, EFÄR stands for an abbreviation that has many different interpretations ranging from the rebellious “F___ Racism†to the more socially acceptable “Equality For All Races". The EFÄR line consists of trend driven clothing and products that contain radical and bold statements of anti-hate. T-shirts, caps, dog tags and bumper stickers are just some of the products finding their way to the masses via the internet at unbindyourmind.com , and through direct sales at concerts and specialty retail stores. EFÄR has found the strongest initial acceptance with the young concert going market. Bands such as Godsmack, Staind, POD, Primer 55, SoulFly, and hedPE have shown their support of tolerance and equality by allowing EFÄR to sell merchandise at shows on their tours. Professional athletes and celebrity bodyguards are also endorsing the EFÄR concept. The company intends to evolve its outreach efforts into an educational campaign in classrooms, workplaces, and communities. In addition to its clothing line, EFÄR promotes its anti-racism philosophy through speaking engagements at high schools and other outreach efforts. During its two-year existence, EFÄR ’s founders have addressed high school students, appeared on television and radio programs, and been featured in various newspaper publications.
