The Excuses began in Early 2006 as a very bored Josh Guest made the grave, grave mistake of letting James Conlon come round his house and 'jam'. The two came up with some mediocre banter as well as a few ideas but somehow lacked a certain motivation.
This Motivation found its way into the band a month or so later by means of Cara Tully (complete with Juggling balls and an impressive aim). Dwayne then joined on Drums and a band was born. A debut performance at the Cartoon (R.I.P) saw Wenjie 'Skanking' to acoustic rock, a memorable game of spoons and the start of something beautiful.
2007 has seen two more members join the band, namely Marcey on Violin and Robb 'spider fingers' dunphy on Bass. The band have continued to play gigs (including the Acoustic Lounge, the infamous Hard Rock Cafe and a regrettable drunken night in Wimbledon) and recorded their debut E.P. "Hug a Hurricane".
"erm...I didn't go to the gig. I had an orthodontist appointment" [Karmukelan]
""Its not my cup of Tea to be honest" [John 'knob' Jones]
"Well, Its no Bangra." [Partheban]
