About Me
Hypnotheticall band is born in the winter of 1999 when rhythm guitarist Alberto Bevilacqua and singer Francesco Dal Barco found, with some friends, Whispered Lies, monicker that has been identifying the band for about two years.
The original line-up, simply made by a group of friends in search for fun, suffers many changes due to the increasing need of "professionality".
Two important turning points in the band's history are there when lead guitarist Giuseppe Zaupa and drummer Paolo Veronese join Whispered Lies bringing their load of quality to the band.
With this line-up, completed by bass player Mauro Lovato, Whispered Lies start playing live music in pubs and at bikers' meetings performing covers by Metallica, Testament, Iron Maiden and Slayer; the band's starting to make itself quite known when the live activity must be interrupted by bass player Mauro's departure.
The difficulty in finding an able and motivated substitute forces the band to concentrate on the writing of its own songs leaving out the live aspect. During this period of songwriting the typical traits of Whispered Lies' music come into sight. Together with typical metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Queensryche, Nevermore, Metallica, Slayer and Death, the band's influences also include Opeth, Fates Warning, Tool, King Crimson, Rush, Goblin and soundtracks of famous horror and thriller movies of the 70's. The numerous musical ideas of the band's members, particularly drummer Paolo's ones, converge in a varied type of music, very technical but emotional at the same time, which fits perfectly with Alberto's original and sometimes poetical lyrics.
At the beginning of 2002 the band starts thinking that its monicker, Whispered Lies, is too old-fashioned and decides to change it for Hypnotheticall, more difficult to pronounce and to remember, but more modern and adapted to the band's music.
The first results of Hypnotheticall's efforts are three songs that the band decide to record in February of 2002; replying on the experience and the ability of producer Fabio Lentola, in May of 2002 Hypnotheticall complete the recordings of "In Need Of A God?", the band's first 3-track demo-CD.
Just at the end of the recordings Hypnotheticall finally find the ideal completing of the line-up in the person of bass player Dario Zorzetto; with him the band finds new forces and refreshed convinction and prepares for an intense live activity and for the writing of new songs.
After a summer, the one of 2002, spent playing live at numerous festivals and musical contests, sadly Alberto, fouder member and rhythm guitarist, decides to leave the band for his own free choice. Hypnotheticall decide to go on as a quartet while looking for a substitute, concentrating on the work of songwriting in the rehearsal room waiting to record a new demo-cd at the beginning of 2003.
In February of 2003 the band's got 6 new ready songs, for over 40 minutes of music, and decides to record them replying once again on the producer Fabio Lentola. For this occasion drummer Paolo also records the tracks of second rhythm guitar and guitar synth, an instrument able to give a new and even more particular identity to Hypnotheticall's music.
In April of 2003 the recordings are finally completed and "Thorns", Hypnotheticall's new self-produced mini-CD, can see the light.
After the recordings of "Thorns" some changes occure in Hypnotheticall's line-up. The persistent incapability of finding a new rhythm guitarist, in fact, forces Paolo to set aside the work on the drums for concentrating on the one on rhythm guitar; the empty place on the drum-kit is quickly occupied by Francesco Tresca, a friend of the band's and already drummer in Funeral Cry and Stigmhate. To all this you must add, some weeks later, the departure of the other band's founder member, singer Francesco, forced in his choice by his own will to experiment other types of music.
Once again with an incomplete line-up, but helped behind the microphone by Maurizio Joy Gioli from Airhead while waiting to find a new singer, Hypnotheticall get ready to prepare the new live-set and to write new material. Sadly the experiment has a short life and just after a few months and only a live esibition the band decides to take a break with the aim to put order in its own ideas. The break lasts for a period of two years, during which the band suffers many changes in its name, its musical direction but overall in its line-up. Bass player Dario Zorzetto and drummer Francesco Tresca definitively leave Hypnotheticall, singer and founder member Francesco Dal Barco reunites with the band while many lead guitarists, including Mauro Cunico, follow one another with no luck.
Luckily, at the end of 2005, the band decides to start its official activity once again, replying on a renewed line-up, which includes Francesco Dal Barco on vocals, Giuseppe Zaupa and Mirko Marchesini on rhythm and lead guitars, Riccardo Pasquale on bass guitar and Paolo Veronese on the drums, and on a new music proposal which takes inspiration from bands very different from one another such as Tool, Meshuggah, King Crimson, A Perfect Circle, Porcupine Tree, Rush, Sieges Even and Pain Of Salvation.
In January of 2006 the band decides to reply on "B.B." Nick Savio, Tony "Mad" Fontò and their Remaster Studios to record its new master promo-CD "Promo 2006", made of 8 tracks for a total running time of 40 minutes and destined to recording labels with the aim to look for and to sign a discographic deal.
Less than two months after the recordings, unfortunately bass player Riccardo Pasquale is forced to interrupt his activity with the band because of an important business commitment in a foreing country and is substituted by Mattia Cingano, great bass player and long time friend of the band.
After a year and a half spent playing live, rearranging old songs and writing new material with the intention of recording its first official album, the band at the beginning of 2008 starts experimenting a brand new sound with a new line-up which includes the new bass player Luca Capalbo, who takes the place of outgoing Mattia Cingano, and the 2nd drummer Francesco Tresca, already member of Hypnotheticall for some time in 2003 and now also drummer of the british power metal band Power Quest.
Currently the band is concentrating on the writing of the new material and preparing the new live set with 2 drums. The songs written and played live in the last months, however, will soon be recorded and will take place in the new EP, which will very probably see the light in the next months.
