I am a product of the Internet revolution! I was manuevering MS DOS atage seven and by high school I was making my first website on YahooGeocities. Oh, how times have changed! Nowadays I get tremors if I'mtoo far from my high-speed Internet connection, and I'm basically aprofessional design junkie.
What began as a hobby with my personal website, in a few short yearsbecame my first passion. While completing my English degree at SmithCollege, on the side I expanded my programming knowledge and honed myeditorial and design skills. I spent my first post-grad year workingfor local lifestyle publication, DESTIN MAGAZINE, where I enjoyed acrash-course in journalism and professional editing, added anothercommercial website to my portfolio and ultimately found the inspirationto wear the entrepreneur hat myself.
At the helm of Pearse Street Consulting, I am the MySpace design andmarketing "Guru" and the lead designer for most incoming projects. WhenI am not nose-to-nose with the computer, I spend every spare momentwith my 1-year-old son and my husband, who works as a local firefighter. When I can put three seconds together and I'm not playingpeek-a-boo, making dinner or writing emails, I try to write a poem ortwo.

I would have to say creativity is my passion. Anything that does notgive me the freedom to express myself seems to down right bore me. Infact, math problems and scientific equations actually force me into adeep slumber. Yet, give me a design program, paint brush, pencil orcamera and I am not only entertained but I am so deeply engulfed inhappiness, I am lost for days in my own world.
I knew designing was the path I was being drawn toward (no punintended) even as a child. While all the other children were playinggames in gym class, I would sneak to the art room alone. I continuedthis ritual at my high school Academy, where I took four years of Artand Theory to build my portfolio.
As the technology era rapidly grew, I did as well, branching out fromdrawing to graphic design. In my non-existent space and time I wrote afew chapters to a novel and took photographs to incorporate into mytechnical-driven design work. After two years of Graphic Design andBusiness courses in college, I yearned for life experience in thefield.
I love nothing more than assisting at Pearse Street because each day Iget to live my passion to the fullest, which is a rare occurrence inlife. And above everything else, I get to be involved in working withthe best there is!

‡ Database Design, Flex... You Name It, I Code It
I wake up every morning, and I eat a plate of PHP/MySQL pancakes, withsome xml syrup, and a side of Flash Browns. I started learning how theInternet works at age 19 (when AOL was the big thing). Boy, I missDialup! NOT! The first technology I learned was Java Script--I kind ofskipped HTML!
Today I would consider myself an expert in a wide array oftechnologies. Here is a short list of the technologies that I useeveryday: Java Script, HTML, CSS, XML, PHP, AMFPHP, MySQL, ASP,ASP.NET, MsSQL, AJAX, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Flex, FlashCommication server, and much more (too much to list). I enjoy workingin this field, whether its serious programming, database design orsmall Flash snippets. My goal is to help Pearse Street to become "THEPLACE" that people talk about when they need a new website, shoppingcart, or a groundbreaking Myspace design. I look forward to workingwith you, but I've got to go. I have work to do!

Look at Pearse Street. Look at it all lined up here, a family ofstrapping creative and business-minded net junkies. Kind of makes youproud, doesn't it? Eye-catching design, flawless code, pearlysmiles...wait? Who's that? The tweedy one? An anaemic cousin?
Yep, I'm the one with a book on the subway, on the stairs, on thesidewalk, at the bar, and in the shower. No books? Fine. I'll justsidle up to my laptop and surf the net, maybe check out MySpace andWHAM! Bad grammar, too many exclamation points, mixed metaphor, misspellings, and is that even a word? What is this person trying tosay?
The best thing about my work with Pearse Street is seeing the kind ofinformation that clients might provide in an Excel document transformedinto text that makes a good argument or puts a smile to someone's face.Your website is a resource, and it should be as compelling as anythingon your bookshelf.
