There's no such thing as problems, only situations

About Me

I first moved to Atlanta, GA in '93, and of course all the wonderful normalities, like culture shock, language barrier, etc. followed. The crowd i was hanging with at the time was being saturated in techno, and while i liked that sound, it just wasn't hard or fast enough. It wasn't long - probably some time in 97 - until I found the perfect medium in DnB, and a couple of years later was completely immersed in it. Under my moniker Nano I started dabbling in production using some soft-synths, Acid, and a few other pieces of software, and only about 2 years after that got some Techs and joined the whole vinyl revolution.

In 2004 I found myself in Chicago due to work, and ended up meeting Aamano - a DnB dj/producer who happened to be a former ATL resident. The funny thing was that in Atlanta we used to hang in all the same places, had a ton of mutual friends, but in all the years of living there never ran into eachother once. It all came together when we remixed Yoko Kanno's Inner Universe - the Stand Alone Complex intro tune. Borrowing the name of a totally L337, balls-to-the wall group from the Ghost in the Shell franchise we became Section9 .

Shortly after that we joined up with the MIA Chicago crew, which helped us a lot (thanks guys!). It was right up our alley, and since the majority of the crew were all about the harder sound, we played the hardest-hitting, most obnoxiously twisted stuff we could get our grimy little hands on, and we loved every second of it. I think that was a pretty strong influence on our sound - judging from how our track Something2Fear turned out.

Right now I'm back chillin in the A-town, back among the people I've been missing, plus it's just teeming w/ excellent talent here, so as you can imagine i'm pretty excited about being back. I was pleased to join the 180 Degrees crew soon after arriving back, and have been throwing down some madness every Friday for our DnBTV broadcast (check the banner below).

So what does the future look like? Bright, w/ beer and women everywhere... mmmmmmm..... oh, sorry.
Don't get this wrong - despite me having moved Section9 is still alive and kickin! We have a few projects that we will collab on. Meanwhile I have a solo project or two coming up ;)

Watch this space for new tunes coming soon!

So I've decided to make a catalog of all the old dnb vinyl that I have, which pretty much spans the 1999-2001 period, considered by many to be the best/most explosive/most innovati...
