I love the fall - with all of the of color, crunchy leaves, pumpkin flavored everything, big sweaters that you can get lost in, knitting hats and scarves, constantly consuming hot beverages, preparing the garden for spring, building fires in the fireplace, thanksgiving, dreaming about white. I'm not so fond of the dark days though...just putting that out there.
The man who wrote this poem:
No ImagesShe does not know
Her beauty,
She thinks her brown body
Has no glory.
If she could dance
Naked
Under palm trees
And see her image in the river,
She would know.
But there are no palm trees
On the street,
And dish water gives back no images.

Peter Gabriel has been my favorite musician since I was...oh, I don't know...eight maybe? I'm listening to him right now - San Jacinto - brilliant. I'm really digging female vocalists - Sia, Maria Taylor, Jesca Hoop, Brandi Carlile, Lisa Loeb, Feist, Sara Bareilles, Ani (always), KT Tunstall, Kathleen Edwards, Fiona Apple, Gillian Welch - to name a few. The Damnwells are just too damn brilliant to be ignored (listen to the song :).
My top 3? Shawshank Redemption...Labyrinth...A League of Their Own.
Jeff got me hooked on Friday Night Lights...seriously hooked.
So many great books - just finished White Noise which I'm still stewing on. I think newspapers and literary magazines are my main source of wordage lately (outside of work that is).
My mom...hands down (awww).
