About Me

I'm a bassist and lyricist based in London. I work with a mixture of other musicians, producers and turntablists.
I have played on festival stages, at back-room gigs and at Drum 'n' Bass squat parties.
I also have a gadget site: http://idleparis.co.uk
A few of you tech-heads have asked enough times about my rig so scroll down:
Basses
I'll start with my first pro bass. It's a 1991 Yamaha Attitude Limited (1 of only 500 made in this colourway) strung with Rotosound Billy Sheehan signature strings - what else could I put on it?? ;0,
Next is my 2000 Schecter Diamond Series Custom 5 strung with DR Peacock Blue coated strings - this is my main gigging bass.
Finally when things need to be a bit more 'mwaaaaah' - my 2002 Fender Jazz Fretless in Electron Blue strung with DR Flatwound strings.
Rack 'em up
Hartke Transporter cabs: 1x15 and 4x10
SKB rack which holds: Hartke HA2000 amp, DB Technologies IEM transmitter and a Tech21 Sansamp RBI which I use as a preamp.
Effects and stuff
A lot of the time I use the tonality of my rig and the bass I'm using - a quick tweak of a tone pot or placing the fingers/pick in a different position can open up a whole load of options.....but sometimes you need something different....I have a Line 6 Bass Pod Pro with the FBV shortboard; this has made my Jim Dunlop Cry Baby and ancient Boss BE5 redundant (although they are used with my Ibinez RG550 but this is about bass, right?).A picture of my gear is on the pics page......where else?Easy
