Profile GeneratorRobert Demetrius Griffin is the eldest child of four and only son of Rev. Dr. Robert L. Griffin Sr. and Evangelist Shirley A. Griffin. Demetrius has been performing and singing since the age of five (5).“Demetrius†is one of the most sought after music ministers in the country. With almost two decades as an accomplished recording artist and vocalist, actor, instructor, songwriter, arranger, choral director, consultant and music industry liason, his ministry has soared to phenomenal heights.Known as the BARITONE OF GOSPEL, his style is uniquely diverse with sounds of jazz, traditional, and classical genres evident to the ear. Demetrius has traveled extensively singing, performing and teaching both nationally and internationally. He has been showcased in many musical productions (on & off Broadway), concerts, and most importantly as a minstrel in the house of the Lord. and many, many others…Demetrius is involved in many organizations that advance and promote secular education, performance arts and religious enlightenment. He is most proud to be a member of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) under the leadership of Bishop Albert L. Jamison, Sr. who is the Chairman of the National Board and The Eastern New York Chapter (ENYC) Representative. Demetrius serves on the Local Board of Officers for ENYC and as an assistant to the Chairman of the Board.Demetrius is a devoted member of St. Mark Holy Church of America in Brooklyn NY where Bishop Nathaniel Townsley Jr. is the Pastor and Presiding Prelate. Demetrius accepted his call to the preached word ministry and was ordained a licensed Minister in August 2000, elevated to the office of Evangelist in August 2003, and elevated to the sacred office of ELDER in August 2007. He serves faithfully on the Minister’s Board, associate supervisor of the Men’s Department and Men’s Fellowship, and Youth Leader. He participates in the music ministry of the church as one of the choral directors of the Young Adult Choir, The DLF Men's Fellowship Chorus, and is one of the Praise and Worship leaders. As he has ministered at many different events and services, he is always amazed by the power and presence of God in his life for he knows that it is no more I but the Christ that lives inside.
