MY STORY... Professional musician for 25 years. Clubs, concerts, backing & support work for Eartha Kitt, Jimmie Rodgers, Jose Feliciano, LA4, Anita O'Day etc. To hear more of my music tracks click on the "Peter Boothman Group" icon in the myspace friends section below. Worked extensively with most Sydney-based jazz musicians in the 70s and 80s including Roger Frampton, Bob Gebert, Sid Edwards, Lloyd Swanton, Col Nolan, Bryce Rohde and John Pochée. I have also jammed with Jean Luc Ponty (and most of the then Frank Zappa group), Dave Liebman, Howie Smith and various visiting overseas jazz artists.
Co-proprietor of Guitar City with classical guitarist Peter Andrews. Guitar City was in George St Sydney in the 1970s and there I was lucky enough to meet, talk to, and/or hang out with Joe Pass, John McLaughlin, Manitas De Plata, Kenny Burrell and many other guitar greats. My book about the jazz scene in Sydney in the 1970s (and beyond) is completed ! see the 'blogs' above.I'm also writing a number of articles about Australian Jazz for Wikipedia, including entries for Roger Frampton, John Pochee, Howie Smith and Horst Liepolt and adding stuff to the Australian Jazz entry.
