House music is the way that I live!

About Me

Starting his DJ career back in 1999 in the Midwestern USA, Wajih had an unlikely beginning, taking over at a frat party after the brother DJ was seduced away by a consenting co-ed. Becoming the accidental hero of the night with a party that ended two hours past curfew, Wajih dove head first into deejaying and joined a mobile DJ company, then got involved with indie label Trifecta Recordings as its director of label and artist promotions. By 2003, Wajih had returned to his home in Jordan and decided to dedicate himself to underground music, from house and techno to breaks and electro. As Jordan's first radio mixshow DJ, Wajih shot to nationwide recognition with his shows on Radio Jordan's 96.3 FM, in the days just before private radio stations were licensed. "Mixology" and "Street Science" featured choice cuts in electronic dance music and hip-hop/R&B/dancehall respectively, and his formatting and programming convinced private stations that they could bring in international dance shows from the likes of the BBC and Ministry of Sound to a Jordanian audience hungry for music different from everyday pop.Now with Play 99.6 radio and playing alongside the likes of house legend Robert Owens, Buddha Bar's Ravin, Choo Choo's Barry Gilbey, UK producer Steve Mac, and closing after Armin van Buuren at Distant Heat 2005 in Wadi Rum, Wajih is going international and spreading his love for house music. He also organizes his own small scale events under the Citylife Entertainment moniker, including the charity-based WinterMission.Wajih has made appearances at major night spots in Jordan like Nai, Prana, Myth, Fez, Brews, Caballeros, the Big Fellow, and was the first DJ on the decks at the wildly popular Barracuda Beach Club in Aqaba. He has handled promotions and bookings for several clients including clubs and lounges in the city.

A surprisingly popping night at Prana

Well! What started off as a smooth deep house set for my friend Rula Khoury's birthday at Prana ended up as a slamming night of dirty beats and booty shakin'! Nice crowd, good friends showed up, and a...
