Right Now I am updating the FIREBASE myspace page, this may take a couple of days so please be patient. There is plenty of big news on the way so stay tuned!--Brandon
It started as a inspired vision, but now, it has become a monster.
First started as a small collection of ideas from gamers across the world who wanted to provide a free magazine to all dedicated 40k gamers. This dream has now turned into a reality. Finally, a magazine, dedicated soley to Warhammer 40,000 players.
This vision is FIREBASE, the new Warhammer 40K dedicated magazine that plans to satisfy all the things missing from your regular wargames magazine.
Warhammer 40,000 is popular on a massive scale, overshadowing all other games company products. However, it could be considered to be poorly supported when compared to the products of less successful wargames companies.
The net is rife with outstanding painters, modellers and tacticians. Visit any message board and you will find one of these talented individuals, receiving positive feedback for their inspiring work. But visit the same place a month later any chance of finding impressive work has long gone. Such is the fluid nature of the Internet. However, no one has collected enough of the good stuff and stored it in one place.
All this has finally changed as we are giving the people what they want and we're going to give it to them hard!
FIREBASE will coincide with Games Workshop's release of 40K races and will now cover everything ranging from the coolest painted schemes, to how to guides, to tournament coverage, and of course battle reports!!!
It's often been said that the crusty veterans of 40K are overlooked, unappreciated and generally not well catered for. Well fear not, care for the elderly gamer is on hand.
But while many of us older gamers are able to sit back and cast our eyes over a large, well painted and expertly selected army of ours, let us not forget that we were all noobies once.
"But what makes this magazine so special" you may ask? Well, much like the very inspiring Wargames Journal, FIREBASE will be entirely free to download and read on Adobe Acrobat as a PDF file.
Here is a magazine that promises to give you the fix you've been craving.
As the magazine is quarterly, this means it's going to be big. So there's plenty of room for more of your submissions and what I have received so far has been nothing but astounding quality.
