Hello fellow 40k fans. First let me say WELCOME and hope you enjoy your stay here.
A little about me. I started playing 40k about 6 years ago, right when the 3rd Ed. rules hit the stands. I used to frequent a local gaming shop when I lived in Austin called Dragon's Lair. They used to hold weekly game nights for different types of games; 40k, Warhammer, D&D, Mechwarrior, etc etc.
I happened to be there one particular Tuesday night, 40k night, and started watching all the games going on. I was immediately drawn in. I love strategy games, especially those revolving around war gaming, so naturally I got hooked.
I continued to frequent the weekly games, as a spectator, until finally a friend of mine presented me with an offer I couldn’t refuse. The Chaos Codex had just been released and he wanted to build a Chaos army, so he sold me his vanilla Space Marines, roughly 2000 points worth for 150 credits. Yeah, awesome! Granted most of them were 2nd Ed marines, but I didn’t care. I was just happy to have an army I could play.
To add to that I purchased the starting box set that included Marines and Dark Eldar so that I could have more Marines, the rule book, and all the little extras. Then I turned around and traded the Dark Eldar for more Marines. Oooooh Raaaah!
I played them for a few years, even came up with my own Chapter, before I hit some tough times financially and was forced to sell them sadly. However, last year I purchased a Space Wolf army from another good friend of mine, and that’s what I currently own and play.
