About Me

The Discovery Winterguard is an offshoot of the Marching Captains of Christopher Newport University, competing within the Atlantic Indoor Association winterguard circuit as an Independent A unit. Created in the fall of 2004, it is a class offered by the university within its music department, worth 1 credit. As it is a class, membership in the group not only requires dedication to performance and competition, but to learning the aspects of adjudication, composition and instruction. It is an auditioned ensemble, rehearsing three days per week in the spring semester, with various extra rehearsals. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, flags, rifles and sabres.

My Interests

Well,it's pretty much a given--marching band, winterguard, drum corps, dance, anything within the WGI or AIA realm, Blast!
