Band Members: BANDS THAT DO NOT HAVE ANY POLITICAL/ECOLOGICAL/SOCIAL INTERESTS PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO ADD THEM. THIS IS A PLACE TO SHOW PEOPLE IDEAS AND NOT TO SELL/ADVERTISE CDS/EVENTS.
Influences: We try to make Paddington Breaks more like a communication media than a proper band, that's why our message and the way we do things are really important. First, the band works with cheap equipment as a statement of the way corporate music has made musicians all over the world to meet their standars if they wanna compete in the music market, turning music in a commodity, leaving behind the idea of art as a spiritual individual or collective expression. We're a third world band and these are the means most of the people here can get.
Second, we're now in the 21st century and electronic music is often seen as the future music because we're suppossed to be in the technological era but we still live with all that barbaric crap western society has created during its existence and now it's something that all societies around the world have to live with. Things like selfishness, destruction of nature, endanger species, capitalism monotheism, being a celebrity as an end, all that things that come from a civilisation than is based in discrimination and individualism.
We do not come form a hate breeding society and we want to transmit that, the solution to our problems is not to look out for an enemy to blame as punk and western counterculture movements usually do but to try to build a new world based on acceptance and reconnected to life in all her forms. That's why we think nations and governments are more of a problem than an alternative for a new civilisation/society/community, and relations shuld be horizontal.
As this is a communication media more than a commodity our music is not sold and you can find it in p2p programs such as soulseek.
Also we see myspace as a means to show bands and people who are worth checking out and you can also say that the bands you'll find here in the friends area are the ones who comprise our life's soundtrack except for some bands like Fugazi or Crass how have been a great inspiration for us but they don't have a space here.
Respect.
Sounds Like: Trip Hop is our basic sound but we see this genre as a wider form of hip hop. In other words, it's hip hop with dub, reggae, glitch, punk rock and sounds that have been emerging since life became basically urban
