Songwriter Looking for Artists to Record my Songs

About Me

IMPORTANT: Ellen Kailola, a fantastically gifted artist, was kind enough to allow me to use this incredibly beautiful artwork, entitled "Eye in the Sky", as my demo album cover. I thank her for her extreme generosity. Thank You, Ellen.I've been writing songs since an early teen. I learned guitar, some piano and a lot of music theory... and still learning.I've played at various venues and am a member of RISA (Rhode Island Songwriters' Association).I'm a songwriter... a songwriter that daydreams and night-dreams and thinks way too much. It's enjoying for me to convert those feelings from dreams and thoughts into music and capturing them into songs. My music is mostly on the sad, bittersweet and maybe a little on the angry side. My music and lyrics have been called gloomy, eerie, etheral with a touch of psychedlia, provocative, and theatrical or cinematic. There are some rare exceptions, though, with a much lighter feel. I cannot confine and "clique" myself to one genre, but my body of work has been said to resemble classic rock in general. I've performed at various coffee houses and performance venues on their open mic nights, even though I consider myself primarily a songwriter - not so much a performer. But, I do enjoy presenting my songs to an audience. There are some songs which I'm highly proud of that aren't here. Most of my songs are introspective, but I believe they convey a general attitude that could possibly apply to a wide range of listeners - something most everyone could relate to... or maybe not. It's really up to the listener, now, isn't it? It's up to them to feel and find a connection with the song, I'd say. I also personify things in my songs. I like to give things without voices, or human voices, a voice, but it's from my perspective. My original, "The Hand of God" is my interpretive personification of something that deals with one aspect of my Azorean heritage. I like to leave some mystery in a song. I want the listener to ask themselves, "What was that fothermuckin' song about?" There's a definite answer to the mystery. But, I want the listener to find that out for themselves and have them come up with their own conclusions and interpretations. CLICK HERE TO VIEW My Myspace.com Profile Site

My favorite all time music video, and my favorite song from this artist - P!nk. My second all time favorite music video. It's a close second. I like this version of "One" with clips from the film "Johnny Got His Gun". This isn't my favorite song by Metallica. My favorite songs by Metallica are "Fade to Black and "Hero of the Day". "One" is on my second tier of favorites from them.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: This is it.
Band Members: I'm the sole creator of these songs. I mixed them together using a multitrack recording software program. All the music, lyrics, arrangement, instrumentation and production was done on my own. I sang, played the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard and used a drum machine program to lay down the bass drum that's heard in "Mrs. Nocturna". I realize the songs do sound "raw" and "unpolished".
Influences: Influenced by many diverse genres. For what it's worth, my consistent favorite singer/songwriters and bands are, in no particular order, Neil Diamond, Pink Floyd (with and without Roger Waters), Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Jimmy Buffett, Guns N' Roses, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Joel, Rasputina, Alice in Chains, Elton John, Black Sabbath, on and on. Melora Creager, singer/songwriter for Rasputina has, without a doubt, become both musically and lyrically, my most recent favorite songwriter.
Sounds Like: In the world of music I don't know where I fit in. I just scythe my own swath of music. With some songs, my music has been said to have a slight Goth flavor. Some songs are straight-up ballads. With others they're just rock with an acoustic guitar backing used as the framework for the song. In general, they've been said to resemble an almost classic rock feel. They've been called eerie, slightly ethereal with a touch of psychcedelia, provocative, thoughtful, gloomy, heart-felt and theatrical or cinematic. My body of work is diverse - as is my taste in music, which includes basically everything.
