They are generally held on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of each month. They begin at 7:30pm. There is no charge for members to attend. It is a comfortable atmosphere to try out new material. Snacks and beverages are either provided by the host or are brought by the members.PREPARATION: Please bring: ~ your instrument (usually a guitar or something small) ~ or a pre-recorded tape or Compact Disc (boom box is available). ~10-12 copies of your lyrics clearly typed out.The monthly critique dates are made available through the weekly e-mails and on this WEB PAGEThe critiques are done using the SALSA METHOD MILD - Light critique MEDIUM - A bit more critical... Sounds Like: Songwriters in the Round at AS220 in Providence. The monthly series takes place on the SECOND SUNDAY of EVERY month from 6-8pm. The show, now in its sixth year, is hosted by different songwriters each month. The hosts include: John Fuzek, Jacob Haller, Joanne Lurgio, Jim Tata and Ryan Fitzsimmons. The hosts are joined by two other RISA members and a third songwriter –usually a touring artist from out of state. These shows are highly entertaining and the audience members get to hear 4 different versions of a song written specifically for that evening's show.
