My Interests

These are just some "Turtle Times", come out and join us!
| View | Add FavoriteWe have several Turtle-sponsored parties throughout the year. They always include food. Sometimes the food is snack food and sometimes it's a complete meal. Here are our special events: 1) Super Bowl party (includes snacks at start of game and buffet dinner at halftime). 2) St. Patty's Day (free corned beef & cabbage dinner). 3) Cinco de Mayo (free build your own burrito buffet, chips, salsa, guacamole). 4) Our anniversary party (mid-June) (free barbecue with all the fixins'). 5) Thanksgiving Eve "Rock Out" party - snacks, karaoke or live music. In addition to our Turtle-sponsored parties, we have many private parties including birthday parties, bachelor/ bachelorette parties, retirement parties and others. If you give us enough advanced notice, we will reserve tables for you, provide you with a free cake decorated for the guest of honor, and provide a free 4' vinyl "Turtle" banner for the special guest (e.g., the banner might say "Happy Birthday Ron!"). In addition, if you wish to have us cater a special event, contact us and we will put an entire package together for you complete with catering(minimum of two weeks advanced notice required for all catered events).

I'd like to meet:

Fun people who like to have a good time at the bar without getting out of line. Over 21 only!

Music:

The Glass Turtle is home for people who enjoy music. We always have our internet jukebox which has more than 200,000 songs available with every genre and every decade of recorded music available. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, it's Karaoke!! Come check out our new system!!! We now have 26 speakers, a 300 watt amplifier, and a 400GB hard drive instead of the old c.d. system - currently holding 19,000+ songs and adding 60-100 new songs each month! These songs will include newly released rock n roll, country, and many other genres. We also have 20" flat screens to view the words. In summary, the new system has 3 times the speakers, 2.5 times the power, and 10 times the quality and nearly 12,000 more songs than the old system. We also have at least one musical trivia question each night we have karaoke along with a prize for the winner! It is common to find our karaoke so good that the dance floor is packed with folks having a great time. One of our karaoke stars made it all the way to the Hollywood auditions of American Idol!Periodically we have live bands. These bands have included T.V.L., Gene Thorpe band (now the Fabulous Devilles), The Romp, Smoke, Dewey Parker, ShovelMonkey and Satori (from Chico).

Television:

The Glass Turtle is home to most nationally-televised professional sporting events including NFL, NBA and WNBA, MLB, NASCAR, NHL, NCAA March Madness, NCAA football and the BCS and the winter and summer Olympics. During all NFL games and all Sacramento King televised games we have special drink pricing. We have one big screen and 4, 27" television sets strategically placed throughout the bar. We are also in the process of installing flat screens behind the bar. The GT has hosted two Sacramento Kings viewing parties complete with some of the Royal Court dancers and KHTK radio personalities.
