The Walpurgis Project is simply a one-man-band strongly influenced by various and different other bands such as Danzig (mostly his albums 'Blackacidevil' and 'Black Aria'), Depeche Mode (specially 'Songs Of Faith And Devotion' and 'Violator'), Samhain, The Damned, Sisters Of Mercy and John Williams (the famous author of the 'Star Wars' theme). Other musical influences come from Human League, Heaven 17, Joy Division, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Tiamat, Dead Can Dance, Paradise Lost, Faith No More, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Alien Sex Fiend, D.A.F., The 69 Eyes, BlutEngel, Plasma Pool, Laibach, Nine Inch Nails, Goblin (they made a lot of soundtracks for horror movies) and Maestro Ennio Morricone.
About the name of this band, it is inspired by the night of Walpurga, a pagan fertility tradition transformed by the Church into a Christian feast named Saint Walpurga's day (it is celebrated on the 1th May).
Other influences come directly from various underground horror movies (Romero, Argento, Bava, Craven and Raimi), Lovecraft's novels, classical music and the European folklore about Witchcraft... About me, well I'm not a professional musician and I have no manager, no label, no talent (LOL), I make music for my own pleasure because I believe in the idea of D.I.Y. (acronyms of Do It Yourself) and because I want to bother you all with my evil symphonies LOL!
In the end, I want to thank to people who support the 'Walpurgis Project'.
"Looking for the Light of the Dead, I walk alone in this darkness every day, between the Good and the Evil"
After a fucking year, I got back with my creepy de-compositions lol... so what can I say?? ALL "WE" NEED IS... GORE!!! lol! I dedicate this new song to my friends.
