Blacksmiths Daughter started as no more than a mutual dream in a Blue Mounatins garage. After nearly two years of scrupulous line-up selection, dedication and hard work, BD is finally becoming a serious, audio sensory, reality. With a cutting edge, progressive sound, powerfull melodic riffs and striking vocals, this modern band is planning to make its mark on the music world as we know it.The band started as a trio with Sean on Drums, Tim on Guitar and Chi leading the circus on Vocals with a lot of mutual writing taking place. Song after song seemed to flow from thin air and soon it was obvious a bass player was needed to complete the line up. This proved to be difficult as most of the bass talent in the local area had been snapped up. Therefore a good friend of Tim's, Marcus, was settled upon and he began transposing his guitar knowledge onto bass. Then, out of nowhere, Andrew, one of Sydney's most talented Guitarists practically fell in Tims lap. Soon his harmonic parts and nasty lead finally completed the sound that is now Blacksmiths Daughter. After hitting the Blue Mountains music scene and being widely accepted, the band is starting to make its mark on Sydney and soon, with the up and coming release of their debut CD, throughout Australia.

Influences: To us, it's all about the sound, and a good song is a good song. We are all different and have our own major influences. We seem to draw from all different genres to create our tunes- Punk, Metal, Old School and New Rock, Pop, Jazz, Funk, Blues, Grunge, Hard Core........ Massive Respect to Pantera, S.T.P., Tool, Disturbed, Rage, Seppy, Allanis, Killing Heidi, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Systems, Green Day, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Audio Slave, Pearl Jam, Slayer, Metallica, Zepplin, Sabbath, Vai, Satriani - could go on and on and on and on and on- but I'm not going to!....www.whatsonatmylocal.com.au
Sounds Like: We are heavy and soft and all thats in between, so its so hard to say just what we sound like. Markets says it best - "well, what do you wanna hear?" We have a song that covers it. Why get stuck in one genre when we love so many - well, except country & western. Hehe, sorry Slim, you're great! So I guess the best words we can use to describe Blacksmiths Daughter's music is 'SOLID' and 'POWERFUL'!Live Mix Ori Sep '07
