Activley Participating in the Pursuit of Perfection

About Me

I am a multi-faceted artist born in The Commonwealth of Dominica now residing and creating in Brooklyn. Flatbush stand up! My first love was the pen and any piece of paper that I could find to write my thoughts down. I was introduced to the ever-changing literary landscape of New York by Last Poets', Abiodune Oyewole. He saw something special in me and decided to mentor me through the first stages of my writing career. Since our meeting at The Paul Robeson High School in 1996, I have gone on to pen a couple noteworthy pieces in the arena of poetry and song writing. Some of my work consists of "Verbal Rampage" (1998) - a poetic play dealing with day to day fallicies and the truth behind the lies. "AutoBioGraphic" - a selected collection of songs and poems documenting the growth of a writer and performance artist over a 10 year period (1996-2006). In the fall of 1998 something great happened to me -The House of Nassat was born. The House of Nassat is a lifestyle line offering hand-made one of a kind pieces as well as everyday apparel. As CEO and head designer I have had the oppurtunity to create custom couture pieces for fashion forward artists such as Erykah Badu, Common, Musiq, dead prez, N'Dambi, Junior Kelly and Talib Kweli. We, at the House of Nassat are fully committed to our mantra, "actively participating in the pursuit of perfection". Keep your eyes peeled for the real.
