About Me

It was time to go in hiding. Time to fucking raid the Belgian back catalogues and hijack that old sound. Pumping new energy into a long forgotten sub-genre which was more influential than many would care to believe. A trip to darkest Belgium was undertaken in early 2005, back to the spiritual home of New-Beat. One windswept night in Destelbergen, the formula was rediscovered in a local bar. It was found at the bottom of a Duvel glass and was right there. In drunken haste a bus journey back to Ghent was undertaken and V/Vm set to work on recreating that old Acid vibe for one last journey. This is for you, the people of the Benelux region. For those Luxembourg girls out there who i am yet to meet. This is the sound of eighty-nine, two thousand and six style.Since that trip what has followed is renewed interest in the old format. V/Vm has released a 12" maxi-single titled "i wanna fuck miss nicky trax", a compact disc "sabam" named after the Belgian sample clearing authorities and most recently a 12" on we/me records from Brussels called "Made in Belgium".Click the band website to order any of these new-beat inspired releases and relive the past today, support the old style. There is a microsite via the link which will provide you with basic information about the genre. It's ready to rise again. From Belgium with love.
