Born in 1973. Graduted the "Telma Yellin" high school for the arts. Lead alto, soloist, arranger, conductor and librarian of the Israeli Army orchestra, 1991-1994.
Recipient of the America- Israel cultural foundation scholarships for outstanding achievements.
Graduated Berklee college of Music, Summa cum Laude, in 1997. Recipient of the College award and the woodwind department award for outstanding achievements. Studied with Joe Viola, George Garzone, Bill Pierce, John La Porta, Charlie Banacos. Performed the Glazonov concerto for Alto saxophone with the Thelma Yellin symphonic orchestra, in a European Concerts tour, in 1990, and was the conductor and musical manager of the "Thelma Yellin" alumni Big Band.
Member of the phenomenal family group, "the 3 Cohens", with his sister and brother, Anat and Avishai Cohen. Member of the international duo, Hamamura-Cohen, and leader of his own quartet, playing original music of his.
Performed in the US, Europe, Japan, and in Israel (Red Sea Jazz Festival, Caesaria international Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Jazz festival).
Teaching Jazz improvisation techniques at "Thelma Yellin", and at the Tel Aviv conservatory. Yuval is also a lawyer.
