Bumpy Barns----With souls as dark and powerful as the Dinka of Southern Sudan and the spirit of a committed free mine of Haiti. This outcast built from the struggle and pain of growing up in the streets of NYC, hustling to stay alive on a righteous path has traveled him far into the darkest tunnels. Surrounded by drugs violence and death, there seems to be no way out, but where there is darkness, at the end of the road there is light. Bumpy Barns-born in Haiti, Saint François Dessalle (Laville, Port-au-Prince) groomed and raised in the city of Brooklyn, NY. Bumpy Barns a phenomenal and exceptional Mc embraced the world of hip hop as a young teen going as far back as Krush Groove, Kool Mo D, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, 2pac, Biggie Smalls and many others who inspired his life out the era of break dancing, popping, graffity. This visionary is able to understand the past, present and future of the hip hop nation recognized by his surroundings for having such a bless full talent since August Martin H.S., Bumpy has tested the waters to find out his direction and rightful place in the music industry. After recording several demos and winning most talent shows and open mic's, Bumpy decided the only way to get his Darkside Family out there is to grind as a solo artist and set the pace because of his versatility and being of a West Indian descent it landed him on the Borriqua Gorraroe hip hop/reggae album which consist of the late Big Pun, Fat Joe, Buster Rhymes and many more various high profile artists, making it number one in Puerto Rico in the summer of 1999. The Darkside Family's rap sheet began. Starting with prime time exposure for one of the first in a long line of rap based commercials (1-800 accident commercial) that became the first law firm rap commercial ever in 1999, aired on the Angie Martinez show and others on hot 97 we ended up going from audio to visual being the first law firm TV rap commercial, airing in between Ricky Lake, Jerry Springer, Oprah, and Judge Mathis, FOX5, ABC, UPN9, and the WB11. In 2001 we put out our first Darkside Family single (Ya'll ain't the only thugz), shooting our first video with the assistance of Doug Inberg from Video City that also gave us 1 year air play on his show with many other public access television stations. Since then, opened shows for Sporty Thieves in B-E-C club in Brooklyn to various other clubs bringing down the roof in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Jersey, Long Island, Philly, Miami, California, performing in bars and barn yards. Also open shows for Raven, Shaggy, Bajai, Screechie Don, Special Ed, and many more underground acts. As Commander and Chief of the Darkside Family, it was his brother being locked down for 20 years to life under false pretences that made him come to realize that the entire Fam will be dealt with the same life sentence if we dont stand up fight for our rights and be somebody. One hand washes the other. Ten years past since the 1st single (Ghetto boy), which became our Family anthem, from that point on we made a promise to become number one and make our dreams come true to live rich or die trying. Bumpy connects minds with his 1st in command, P-Dubb aka Mr.50 Grand, now the two of them making it happen, rapping or clapping out here the only way to feed their Fam. To Bumpy Barns this is all for the future of his beautiful kids to never live and go through what he's been through.
