Stemming from a long line of Ministers, Evangelists and Community Activits, "OCEAN" is one of the most profound, spiritually driven, lyrical artists of his time. Known for his ability to relate to the young and the old can only be defined as God Given. This native of Buffalo, New York has overcome many obstacles in his childhood. From shyness, low self-esteem, being labeled learning disabled to negative conditioning from those in high status, OCEAN's constant desire of wanting to be heard was not expressed until he was introduced to the art of lyricism while freestyle battling in his high school cafeteria. With this new form of expression and a desire to make a change OCEAN relocated to Atlanta, GA around the fall of 1999, where he began perfecting his craft on the local open mic scene, found his "True Calling" for Spoken Word and slowly made a name for himself. OCEAN began to show his face around the United States by performing in several states at religious events such as T.D. Jakes Megafest, a variety of churches and mosqes; schools and universities; annual conferences, Weddings and detention centers. Many have described OCEAN's style of poetry as spiritual, thought-provoking with an explosive delivery. His clever word play is coupled with a sense of spirituality that has been known to bring both men and women to tears.Through these great accomplishments, OCEAN began to gain a greater relationship with God; and was blessed with creating a compact disc and a poetry book, obtaining his G.E.D., a wife, a son and still holds the title of one of the "HOTTEST" spoken word artists in the country.
