About Me
Marco Berto: deep heartbeat
Marco Berto – his name is his bond. The charismatic house DJ has been scorching dancefloors for 15 years now, successfully publishes under his own labels, has won acclaim on the international scene and has become a household name on the Swiss party scene in the process.
Marco Berto discovered his addiction to music at an early age, playing the latest sounds to his schoolmates during class breaks. He was soon DJing at his youth club, quickly followed by the local bar and then his first club…. hooked! With the purchase of his very first vinyl record came an epiphany: this was ‘house’ music and Marco Berto knew he had found his musical homeland.
Beat in the bloodstream
Today, 28-year-old Marco Berto has perfected the vinyl virtuoso’s art, regularly headlining at the cream of the country’s nightspots – the legendary Club Q and the Supermarket, to name just a couple. Having conquered Switzerland Marco soon began to look further afield: he’s been DJ in residence on Lake Constance’s floating dasBoot and also at Alfons X in Ulm for five years, has entranced Balearic clubbers at Space on Ibiza, has lit up nights on Sardinia, Cyprus and even in St. Petersburg. He’s worked with the global DJ elite including Erick Morillo, Louie Vega, David Morales, David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Richie Hawtin and Sander Kleinenberg.
The way Marco Berto lives for his music sets him apart from other DJs: when he’s behind the decks then all his passion goes into the music he plays. He leaves no stone unturned in his quest to exploit all the possibilities of modern technology, getting his interpretation of house music across to his audience in all its glory… his is a sound with a unique soul. Only a DJ who knows, lives and loves house can mix and play at such a high level over so many years; Marco Berto’s heart pumps to a powerful house beat because for him, house is the very pinnacle of electronic dance music – accessible to a broad public, breathtakingly exciting in its variety and wickedly sexy in the dance-moves it teases an audience to make.
The world is not enough
His modus operandi behind the decks is also highly distinctive. Not content to churn out the same well-tried favourites, Marco Berto is a restless sound sommelier: his sets will take unexpected musical turns, with daring beats, loops and mixes first stunning then goading dancers on. He understands the delicate art of uniting the very different factors in a party, the mood, the sound and the lights, into a perfect, pumping whole. His years on the top-flight club scene are a testimony to his talent for knowing just which party situation requires which sound. Booking Marco Berto means booking 15 years of professional DJ experience – and guarantees an unforgettable party.
Not content with being an established Champions League DJ, Marco Berto’s musical ambition and creativity have brought him remarkable success in other fields. He’s a respected vinyl critic published by several music magazines (including Musiq and Q Times) and has very popular spots as a radio DJ and host on ‘Radio Top’ - 'Top Tunes’ which regularly pull in more than 50,000 listeners at Saturday evening primetime. With fellow DJ Le Noir he co-founded the "be together" label which stages phenomenally successful sessions in Bern, Basel, Olten and Lucerne, with further cities to follow.
The talented duo host the monthly house of love party at Club Q, with Marco Berto personally manning the mixers. What’s more, the 28-year-old has created his own label, one which crystallizes Berto’s own intimate relationship with his music: Deep Love. He’s currently building a studio at home to be able to produce his own tracks and this charismatic charmer’s future plans include bringing more labels, more CDs and even a fashion brand to the international market in a bid to establish his own creations around the globe. Quite simply, for Marco Berto, the world is not enough.
