HEAVY MOVEMENT PRESENTS:
S-ONE

The South Bronx is unquestionably the place where hip hop as we know it began. From KRS One in the early 80’s to the late 90’s and Big Pun, The Bronx has always been well respected as a staple in hip hop. Since the untimely death of the great Big Pun, the Bronx has been starving for its next “big thing,” until now. Enter S-One..

S-One embodies the best of the best that the Bronx has to offer in the world of hip hop. Embodying what all the great Bronx representers before him have offered to the world of hip hop, S-One is a rare lyricist who brings the flair of “real hip hop” back to its original roots.

Already establishing himself as a certified battle rapper sparring with some of the best lyricists in the area, S-One began his career in 2003 as a part of a rap group called “Kingz of Da Castle.” Gaining a heavy street buzz and even a notable mention in allhiphop.com’s “Breeding Ground”, S-One crafted his style and worked on his craft before creative differences forced him to part ways with his former counterparts in early 2006 and focus on a solo career. Working with platinum producers such as Heatmakerz, Minnesota, Reefa and Charlemayne only to name a few, S-One began hitting the streets in hopes of creating a buzz as a solo artist. In early 2006, S-One decided to go for broke and drop a DVD and Mixtape featuring original music over platinum production to generate a bigger name for himself when he ran into The Redchild and DJ Famous. Already familiar with S-One through the neighborhood, The Redchild and Famous took an instant liking to S-One’s swagger and style and collaboratively joined forces to build S-One into the next “big thing”.

With the work ethic of a hustler, the heart of a champion and the platinum swagger to match, S-One is already setting the streets ablaze. The “South Bronx Favorite Son” has already been featured on major radio airwaves in NY (Hot 97 and Power 105.1). With a street buzz to boot and a movement behind the Castle Hill representative, S-One is definitely on his way to winning the hearts and ears of the listeners who are starving for the days when lyrics and hip hop went hand in hand. Crediting the early days of hip hop and such artists as Nas, Biggie and TuPac with the motivation behind putting the pen to the pad, S-One models himself after the greats in order to be great. “Since Pun there hasn’t been anyone whose been influential to rep the Bronx. There isn’t anyone in the Bronx that makes you want to pick up your pen and write, except for me of course,” says S-One. The days of the lyricist taking a back seat to the current climate in hip hop and the domination of the south, its time to bring the “real hip hop” back to where it belongs, the place where it originated from, the Bronx. “I represent the struggle. I want to have people to relate to me, I speak about the pain and the trials and tribulations that we go through every day but also the good that life has to offer. I want to bring back the day that lyricists used to bring it. Bring that BX flava back to hip hop.”

S-One is set to drop his 1st official mixtape in June 2007. The mixtape wil feature the best street rappers on the east coast all co-signing why S-One self proclaimed “South Bronx Favorite Son” is up NEXT.
