This is part of an excellent set of arsenal he brings to the mic, as well as his flawless delivery. The Dominican, Bronx-born, Columbus based rapper, first moved to Ohio at the age of 8 years old. During this time his divorced parents where fighting for custody of the child which caused him to be shifted from New York to Ohio back and forth for about 3 years. At the age of 12 he decided he wanted to stay in Columbus and continue living with his mother, and visit his father on vacations. He began writing music in the fifth grade, at 10 years old. “As a young child he was always infatuated by musicâ€, recalls his mother. Rico was highly influenced by his older cousin Dres, who at the time was writing raps consistently. There would be times where Dres would throw a rap away and Rico would go to the trash can, take it out, read it, and wonder why he gave up on the verse. It all started when he was assigned a project in music class; where the students were to compose there own music. He decided he would write a rap song for the class. After this assignment was complete the music teacher was highly impressed and marked him a passing grade for the project. Ever since then he has continued to write rap lyrics and is now considered one of the elites in the local music scene of Columbus, Ohio.At this time, Rico is getting ready to finish up his first, full length album, Payday, and continue on building his writing and rhyming capabilities. With wishes of entering the music industry hoping to write music for others as well as produce music he is sure someone to keep an eye on. Rico calls himself “Hip-Hop’s best kept secretâ€! His only mission is to expose that secret to the masses.
